Dear Library Partner,
Thanks to all of you, OverDrive's Training Month in September 2009 was a great success! Our most popular class was Patron Assistance, and many of you have requested additional sessions. Reminder: Listen Up! Vermont training next week
I posted this a while back, but I wanted to remind people that we have two trainings next week on 1/25 and 1/26.
As anyone who has taken the "Browse, Check Out, Download!" class (formerly Digital Library 101) knows, this class run by OverDrive is the perfect introduction to learning about the Listen Up! Vermont collection, and prepares you to answer just about any question your patrons might have about using the service.
With our new Round Five members getting ready to start up, OverDrive is offering two sessions of this excellent training. We strongly suggest all Round Five libraries attend the training -- there is no limit on the number of staff that can attend -- and we also suggest that current participants consider sitting in on a class, especially since our collection has added iPod compatibility since most of us first took the training.
Browse, Check Out, Download!
Monday January 25th at 10am. Access Code: 5736006
Tuesday January 26th at 3pm. Access Code: 5736000
Description: Learn how to browse, check out, and download titles from your library's Virtual Branch website. At the end of this course, library staff should feel comfortable answering basic questions about your OverDrive download service.
Duration: 1.5 hours.
Who should attend: All staff.
As in the past, the training will be done using the Ready Talk service. Go to http://www.readytalk.com and use your access code to log in. You will be given the phone number to call in order to hear the audio portion.

A new file, Winter 2009.mrc, is available in the Listen Up! Vermont MARC records folder -- available in the Box.net widget in the menu bar on the left on the Listen Up! blog, or directly at http://www.box.net/shared/kyo801kt0o.
Be sure when importing these records into your catalog, you have matching rules set up to avoid adding two copies.
