Every so often, I like to repost the information about accessing the promotional materials for our downloadable audio programs -- here's a repost of the post I did back in February:
Listen Up! Vermont and Recorded Books participants -- don't forget that you have access to free promotional materials for both programs!
Listen Up
Look in the box.net widget below for handouts, logos, and OverDrive created materials. You can open up the file you want right from the widget, and download or print them.
We also have posters AND bookmarks; all you have to do is send Stephanie postage (to PO Box 1029, Stowe, 05672) and she will fill up a box and send them to you. Please be sure to send postage for a flat-rate Priority Mail box as the bookmarks can get quite heavy. Check with the post office to obtain postage for the size box you would like: $5 should get you 200 or so, and the next size up, about $10.50 or so, several hundred to a few thousand. These are first come, first served, and I will do my best to send them in a timely fashion.
Recorded Books
Contact Recorded Books directly at oneclickaudio@recordedbooks.com for posters and bookmarks, and check out the box.net widget for other downloadable and printable materials:
Welcome to the Listen Up! Vermont blog for library staff, volunteers, and trustees, and interested users. This is a project of the Green Mountain Library Consortium (www.gmlc.wordpress.com), a group of libraries joining together to provide downloadable audiobooks and eBooks, a shared integrated library system (VOKAL-Koha), and the language-learning program, Mango, to users around Vermont. Looking for the Listen Up! Vermont site to download digital content? Visit www.listenupvermont.org.

OverDrive's Open Training Month
September is Open Training Month for OverDrive, and we encourage staff from all of our member libraries to sign up and take advantage of the course offerings. As with other trainings offered by OverDrive, you can take the training anywhere you have Internet access and a computer -- you no longer need a phone line.
Visit http://www.overdrive.com/products/dlr/training/ to register. We recommend that all circulation staff at all of our member libraries take the "Browse, Check Out, Download," "Patron Assistance" and "Mobile Update" trainings. The "Community Outreach" training is a great way to get new ideas for promoting the service to patrons, and we request that the staff at all of our member libraries responsible for statistics as well as our Purchasing Committee members take the "Real Time Reports" training.
Consider doing a group training and setting up a computer and projector in your meeting room, inviting your staff and volunteers and/or librarians from nearby libraries.
You could win an mp3 player from OverDrive for attending, and who knows -- maybe help the GMLC win a collection credit!
The GMLC will also be raffling off an mp3 player. Email us at vtaudiobooks[at]gmail.com with your name and the times and dates of the courses you registered for, and we will enter your name into the raffle for each course (ie, sign up for three courses, get three raffle chances). Circulate the player at your library, or take it home and download some audio books for yourself!
The courses often fill up quickly, so register as soon as possible.

Browse, Check Out, Download Training from OverDrive
Our latest Listen Up! Vermont training has been scheduled for Thursday, July 15 at 10am. Your library's technology contact should have received an email with all of the details about the training.
This training is A MUST for all staff, especially if you have not taken part in a training since your library began using Listen Up! in 2007 or 2008 (the equivalent training at that time was called Digital Library 101). There have been many improvements and additions to the service since then, and OverDrive always does an excellent job.
There is no need to RSVP for the training -- just put it on your calendar! Of course, if you are planning to attend and welcome staff or volunteers from other libraries to come and participate, why not put a comment below?
Please let Stephanie know at schase[at] stowelibrary.org if you did not receive the email or if you need the information about how to log in to the training.
Happy Fourth!
