Solution to Windows 7/OMC Security Upgrade Problem

We submitted a ticket to OverDrive yesterday on behalf of a user who was unable to run the security upgrade in OverDrive Media Console (OMC) while running Windows 7. Our good friends in support provided us with a solution within 30 minutes. In case you have patrons experiencing a similar problem, here's the fix from Luke at Support Services:

"We believe this issue can be resolved by following the steps outlined at the Microsoft support link below. This process involves using the 'ResetDRM' tool to reset the DRM (Digital Rights Management) for Windows Media Player.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976590

Once they have performed the steps above, they can verify the upgrade is complete by opening OverDrive Media Console and going to 'Help > About OverDrive Media Console'. The version of DRM listed should be 2.9.0.1."

Good luck, and if those of you who are reading this in an email have a minute, click over to www.vtaudiobooks.blogspot.com and see our new look!
