Overdrive Help for Kindles

Most of the eBooks in Listen Up! Vermont's digital collection are in the EPUB format. This  format is used by most eBook devices (but not Kindles) and using the Overdrive mobile app. EPUB ebooks are digital versions of printed books that can be read on a variety of electronic reading devices like the Nook, Kobo, iPad, Android tablets, and many different types of phones.
Both PC and Mac users may download and install Adobe Digital Editions and authenticate their computers with an Adobe ID to read Adobe EPUB eBooks on their computer or transfer the eBook to their compatible Nook, Sony, or Kobo device.
EPUB eBooks can be downloaded directly to many devices with the OverDrive Media Console app for iOS or Android.
EPUB titles circulate for 7 or 14 days and can be returned early through the OverDrive Media Console, Adobe Digital Editions (for PC or Mac), or through the OverDrive Media Console mobile app or Bluefire Reader mobile app.

Overdrive READ:

Overdrive READ lets patrons read from their web browsers. Reading in a web browser means that you can enjoy eBooks without the need for downloads or special software on a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

Your eBooks are stored in the cloud, which means you can read across a number of different devices and your eBooks will sync so that you don’t lose your place. Modern web browsers will save the books in the browser cache, so you can read even when you’re not connected to the internet.
